Sway controls fitted in Ballarat

Generally correct weight distribution will contribute to controlling sway because all wheels have full traction on the road. However sway can still occur from passing trucks, cross winds etc. If a weight distributing hitch has been fitted and you want to ensure sway is minimised, a Hayman Reese sway control unit is highly recommended. We have the experience to supply and fit the appropriate sway controller for you.

Friction sway controller

The friction sway controller is an add-on to a Hayman Reese weight distribution hitch. It is recommended for ball weights 0–160kg.

Dual cam sway control

The Dual Cam sway controller is an add-on to a Hayman Reese weight distribution hitch. It is recommended for ball weights upwards of 160kg.

Electric sway control (Tuson)

Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control is electronic sway control for caravans and trailers. It watches for the start of sway and brakes the left or right side of the trailer on its own to pull it back into line, the same idea as the stability control in a modern car.

It suits caravans, horse floats and other trailers with electric brakes: it works through the trailer’s brakes, so electric brakes are a must. It works with the brake controllers fitted to most tow vehicles. We supply and fit it in our Ballarat workshop.
