The all-new Toyota LandCruiser Prado 250 has only been on Australian roads since June 2024, and it’s already becoming the tow rig of choice for families and grey nomads heading for the high country or the coast. One problem: factory mirrors weren’t built with a wide caravan or box trailer in mind, and the 250’s factory mirror mount wasn’t engineered to carry the load of extendable towing mirrors either.
Clearview has spent time solving that properly rather than bolting on an afterthought — and we’re stoked to say their Prado 250 towing mirrors are coming to Ballarat Trailers & Towbars. They’re not on the shelf yet (Clearview is still finishing local fitment testing), so this is your chance to register interest and be first in line when stock lands.
Why these aren’t just another bolt-on mirror
The 250’s standard factory mirror mount uses internal bracketry that simply wasn’t designed to support the extra leverage of a towing mirror. Rather than force a fit, Clearview engineered a unique, patented secondary mount specifically for the Prado 250’s OE mount position — built for strength and reduced vibration, not just a means to hang a bigger mirror off the door.
It’s the same engineering philosophy Clearview has used across their range for two decades: true replacement mirrors that use the same holes, fitting and factory wiring as the original, so you retain your Prado’s existing tech — power-fold, electric glass, indicators, blind spot monitoring, heated glass and 360° camera provision are all supported where your model already has them.
Compact or Next Gen — pick what suits how you drive
Two designs, both extending up to 180mm past the vehicle for a clear view around a wide load, and both retracting back close to the factory mirror profile for the daily run:
- Compact — a single large convex mirror, factory look, extra towing vision built in.
- Next Gen — dual mirror design: a large flat top mirror for reversing and hitching up, plus a smaller convex mirror for a wider read on what’s around you.
Three towing positions on a telescopic 2-stage extension mean you’re not stuck with one setting, and they won’t retract mid-tow when a semi goes past. Available in black, chrome or raw finish.
Built and stocked here — spare parts included
Clearview builds these mirrors in Australia, which means spare parts are actually available here too, not shipped from overseas on a six-week wait.
